Note A registered World Heritage site, Nikko Toshogu Shrine is dedicated to Ieyasu Tokugawa, one of Japan's most famous warlords. The various carvings that adorn the buildings are certainly worth seeing, and as one of Japan's best so-called "power spots," the entire site feels quite mystical.
